our challenges: social responsibility & environmental sustainability

For more than 25 years now Pandora is part of an industry that faces challenges year after year. The two most important challenges of our industry are social and environmental sustainability. Weather we are in Europe, Asia or Africa the planet and the society need our attention, our involvement and our care. According to the UN, poverty and climate change are two of the most significant challenges of our times, which have a strong impact on the development of generations to come. Pandora’s sustainability work tackle these two major approaches being part of its culture and values.

environmental sustainability

Because we believe in ongoing improvement, besides SA8000, ISO14001, ISO9001, starting this year, Pandora is certified with GRS/RCS standard for recycled fabric and GOTS standard for organic textile. Pandora is also tracer user in BCI (Better Cotton Initiative).
More than that, Pandora developed with its suppliers recycled lining and interlining, organic and recycled wool fabrics, organic and recycled cotton and TENCEL fibres. We use them in our production chain according to clients requirements. In SS19, more than 57% of the cotton used in production is Better Cotton, and more than 94 % of the polyester used is recycled.
In care for the environment Pandora may provide biodegradable polybags, boxes out of recycled cardboard, and recycled hangers.

corporate social responsibility

Pandora is a strong advocate of UN Sustainable Development Goals and has been developing for three years now, CSR Activities inside and outside the factory, both for its employees but also for local communities. The activities have as main purposes: improving educational system, care for health of communities by promoting sports and enriching people knowledge through cultural activities. Pandora shows a maximum concern towards the Environment through the care for the surroundings (both indoor and outdoor) in all the places that the employees can perform. For this, Pandora started some awareness campaigns along with all the employees and implemented a recycling policy all around the company. In all the offices, factories and canteens there are displayed posters with the “need of recycling” and the reasons why we should keep doing this.

In March 2018 Pandora was awarded at Romanian CSR Awards Gala, in Bucharest for its partnership with The Directorate for Culture Vrancea for the project ”Mausoleums on Bike”, a very interesting project we support for 4 years now which brings together sports and culture in an unique way.
